Thanks to a Twitter tip, it seems that Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope might be coming to Linux soon with Vulkan.

Croteam have recently released both Serious Sam VR: The First Encounter & Serious Sam VR: The Second Encounter on Steam. They both use their new Fusion engine which comes with Linux support, Vulkan and 64bit.

Previously Yaakuro worked to make Unreal Engine 4 work with SteamVR using OpenGL on Linux, but now he's moved onto making it work with Vulkan!

Impressive work by Yaakuro, who has been able to get SteamVR to work with Unreal Engine 4 and it uses OpenGL.

Munch VR, a casual VR gamed aimed at a wide audience now has an experimental version which supports Linux.

NVIDIA have released another beta of their Vulkan driver, which includes a fix for a major problem with SteamVR.

And we have another VR HMD contender in the rings folks. LG have announced they will be showing off their own VR HMD at GDC with Valve.

OpenXR is the official name of the Khronos Group's new standard for virtual reality and augmented reality. Hopefully we will see Valve and other companies move towards this instead of their own implementations.

Croteam being awesome as usual, as promised Serious Sam VR: The First Encounter is now officially on Linux.

Valve have already put up Linux versions of both Destinations and The Dota VR Hub now that SteamVR is supported on Linux in beta.

Valve have put up SteamVR for Linux officially in Beta form and they are keen to stress that this is a development release.

Serious Sam VR: The First Encounter now supports VR on Linux using Vulkan, but Croteam is now waiting on Valve updating SteamVR to work on Linux.

It seems that Valve are going to continue their VR push as they have announced they have three more VR games in development.

Croteam have put up a very nice blog post about all their games and it seems all of them are coming to Linux now and with Vulkan too.

Thanks to a Twitter tip we have word that it looks as if SteamVR support for Linux might finally be close.

EGOSOFT, who became pretty Linux-friendly in recent times are working on two new space simulation games! X Rebirth VR Edition will use Vulkan and they are starting to plan X4.

Khronos announced today that they are working on a new open standard for VR and Valve have already said they expect replace parts of their OpenVR with it.

This isn't exactly surprising, but Razer have joined The Khronos Group to back open standards. While not surprising, it's still awesome news.

If you want to play games in VR on Steam, the list of compatible headsets just got bigger. OSVR is now a supported option.

Good news Croteam and Serious Sam fans, as 'Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope' will come to Linux as soon as it's possible to do so.
